Job summary

KPMG LLP is seeking a Tax Intern to join the Mergers & Acquisitions Tax practice for Summer 2027 in the United States. You will assist with structuring tax aspects of private equity and M&A, perform due diligence, and support advisory services across domestic and multinational deals.

Ideal candidates are pursuing a JD/LLM in Taxation (or equivalent) with CPA eligibility planned, a GPA around 3.0, and coursework in analytics or information systems.

Qualifications

  • Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing the listed degrees/majors
  • Candidate must have additional academic credits to complete before degree and CPA eligibility
  • Preferred GPA of 3.0 or above
  • Coursework in information systems, software engineering, computer science or analytics is preferred
  • Strong in technical, business acumen and agility with professional demeanor

Responsibilities

  • Assist with structuring tax aspects of private equity and M&A transactions
  • Perform tax due diligence to identify exposures and opportunities
  • Support sell-side tax advisory and modeling of structures
  • Provide tax advice on debt and equity restructurings and preserve tax attributes
  • Prepare complex tax models for multinational entities and projected tax rates
  • Develop capabilities in AI, Alteryx and Power BI for client service delivery
