Job summary

Goldman Sachs in New York is seeking a Research Analyst to join the M&A Management team within the Investment Banking Division. The role centers on building strategic analyses, developing thought pieces on trends, and driving new M&A initiatives in collaboration with bankers across the firm.

The Analyst will support senior leadership through reporting, ad hoc projects, and deep dives into GS’s M&A performance by industry and region.

Qualifications

One to three years of related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Be part of the M&A Management Group, a small team responsible for strategic analysis, reporting and other functions for the M&A business within Investment Banking.
Interact with bankers across levels of seniority while working on the M&A platform.
Dig in to understand and answer abstract questions relating to M&A.
Develop thought pieces relating to M&A activity, trends and drivers.
Support ad hoc projects for senior M&A leadership and for internal or external purposes.
Involve in development and implementation of key strategic initiatives for M&A.
Analyze GS’s M&A business performance relative to competitors and market share by industry sector and region.
