Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with confidence to interact with clients and senior internal leaders.
• Ability to synthesize data into concise client-ready slides, memos, or talking points.
• Demonstrated interest in equity markets, investor behavior, corporate finance, and the broader macroeconomic environment.
• Effective project management skills with ability to prioritize competing projects and deadlines.
• Strong familiarity with company valuation concepts (comparable multiples, DCF, LBO, etc.) and merger math.
• Exceptional quantitative and technical skills, ideally with experience in statistics or data science.

Responsibilities

• Helping senior bankers across Investment Banking advise clients on a diverse set of merger-related matters.
• Architecting and negotiating structured deal solutions (such as M&A collars and cash/stock elections) on behalf of clients in live M&A transactions.
• Leveraging data to create differentiated insights into the merger and equity markets for use in marketing and advisory assignments.
• Performing and presenting analyses on trading patterns related to activism, mergers, and other corporate events, including M&A buyer reactions, merger arbitrage, index fund trading, and activist accumulation.
• Interpreting investor sentiment around transactions by synthesizing investor feedback, trading desk color, market data, sell-side research, and third-party commentary.
• Analyzing the financial and capital markets impacts of novel transaction structures.
• Providing real-time judgments and insight into trading dynamics in leaked, hostile, or contested M&A.
• Gauging the impact of acquisitions and separations on pre- and post-closing client valuations and equity stories.
• Overseeing, quality-controlling and enhancing the group’s proprietary datasets.
