Job summary

Jobtailor in San Francisco seeks an experienced M&A analyst to drive deal work across Consumer and Technology groups. You will analyze complex datasets, build client-ready materials in Excel and PowerPoint, and apply valuation and financial modeling to advisory engagements.

You will lead multiple workstreams, manage deadlines, and translate data into actionable insights for deal strategy. Engagement with clients and senior bankers will be routine, with in-person deal team meetings.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of industry-relevant experience in M&A/advisory.
• Ability to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
• Willingness to work an on-call, in-office role.
• Strong communication and data-analysis skills.
• Experience with Capital IQ and FactSet.
• Proficiency in Excel formulas, data validation, and PowerPoint.
• Understanding of financial statements and modeling.
• Comfort using AI tools in deal work.
• Ability to manage multiple workstreams and deadlines.
• University degree or equivalent experience.
• Industry knowledge in Consumer and Technology sectors.

Responsibilities

• Analyze complex data sets and identify trends using Capital IQ and FactSet.
• Build client-ready materials in Excel and PowerPoint.
• Apply accounting, valuation, and financial modeling to M&A work.
• Lead multiple workstreams and manage deadlines.
• Translate data into actionable insights and deal strategy.
• Engage with clients, senior bankers, and C-suite audiences.
• Respond quickly to emails/calls and attend deal team meetings in person.
• Support M&A and private capital advisory engagements for Consumer and Technology groups.
