Job summary

Handler Law, LLP, an internationally recognized firm based in downtown Chicago, focuses on Business & Corporate Law; Private Client Trusts & Estates and Taxation. The associate will work on negotiations and drafting business agreements, closing PE/VC investments, and drafting private placement offerings for small businesses and investment funds.

Ideal candidates have 3-5+ years’ experience in business transactions, corporate governance and compliance, and excellent written, oral, and analytical

Qualifications

• JD; candidates with 3-5+ years’ business, financial or tax qualifications (LL.M., CFP, CPA, MBA, MST)
• Law Review or Business Law Journal experience preferred
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Detail oriented with exceptional organization
• Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities while producing high-quality work

Responsibilities

• Negotiating and drafting business agreements
• Closing private equity and venture capital investment transactions
• Drafting private placement offerings for small businesses and investment funds
• Organizing companies, including LLCs and corporations and drafting all organizational documents
