Job summary

Handler Law, LLP in downtown Chicago seeks an Associate with 3–5 years of substantive experience in business transactions, corporate governance and compliance, private equity, securities offerings and mergers and acquisitions. The firm emphasizes superb drafting, communication and research skills, plus the ability to manage multiple matters with discretion in a fast-paced environment.

The compensation package includes a salary range of $140,000 to $250,000, discretionary bonus, generous benefits

Qualifications

• JD required; 3–5+ years in business, financial or tax qualifications.
• Strong writing, communication, and research skills.
• Experience with private equity, securities offerings, and mergers & acquisitions preferred.
• Law Review or Business Law Journal experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Negotiating and drafting business agreements.
• Closing private equity and venture capital investment transactions.
• Drafting private placement offerings for small businesses and investment funds.
• Organizing companies, including LLCs and corporations, and drafting all organizational documents.
