Job description

Pioneers is an AI-powered staffing roll-up focused on acquiring and scaling traditional staffing firms through technology and operational integration. Over the past year, the company has completed and integrated 3+ acquisitions, using AI-driven recruiting and automation to improve growth, efficiency, and profitability.

About the Role

We are hiring a hands-on M&A Manager to lead deal sourcing and transaction execution for our acquisition strategy in the staffing industry. This is a high-impact, deal-driven seat with a clear runway to grow into a Director-level role as the platform scales. You will build relationships directly with founders and owners of small to mid-size staffing firms, originate proprietary opportunities, and structure transactions end-to-end. The right candidate is entrepreneurial, comfortable on the road, and energized by closing deals.

What You'll Do
Deal Sourcing & Origination
  • Build and maintain a proprietary pipeline of small and mid-size staffing acquisition targets across the U.S.
  • Travel extensively to meet directly with owners, founders, and brokers — relationship-building is the core of this role.
  • Develop and execute outbound sourcing strategies (direct outreach, banker relationships, conferences, industry networking).
  • Maintain detailed market intelligence on staffing sub-sectors (IT, healthcare, light industrial, professional, executive search, etc.).
  • Lead deal evaluation: financial analysis, valuation modeling and synergy assessment.
  • Structure transactions including purchase price, earnouts, rollover equity, seller notes, and working capital mechanics.
  • Manage end-to-end due diligence workstreams across financial, commercial, legal, tax, HR, and operational areas.
  • Draft and negotiate LOIs, term sheets, and key transaction documents alongside external counsel.
  • Coordinate closing logistics and support post-close integration handoff.
What You Bring
  • 2-4 years of relevant M&A experience at a private equity firm, investment bank, corporate development team, or M&A advisory group — ideally with deal exposure to staffing businesses.
  • Strong financial modeling and valuation skills.
  • Working knowledge of deal structures common in staffing M&A (earnouts, rollover, seller financing, working capital pegs).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently to meet sellers in their markets.
  • Competitive base salary commensurate with experience.
  • Performance-driven bonus that can represent a significant portion of total compensation, tied directly to total transaction volume closed.
  • Clear path to promotion into a Director of M&A role as the platform grows.
