Job summary

AbbVie is seeking an Information Research (IR) Mergers & Acquisitions Integration Lead to join the BTS IR organization. You will plan and execute cross-functional integration efforts, align R&D systems, and collaborate with BTS, R&D, and business leaders to drive value from deals such as RD ventures, partnerships, co-development, and divestitures.

You will lead a diverse, global team, manage risks, and continuously improve processes while leveraging AI to enhance speed and efficiency in BTS M&A

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science or related discipline with 7 years experience; Master's with 6 years; PhD with 2 years.
• Experience leading a portfolio of business applications and large, complex cross-functional global IT implementations with strong financial management.
• Experience with mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and collaboration.
• Experience with integrating R&D systems from acquisitions.
• Experience with Business Continuity Planning post-M&A integration.
• Skilled in leveraging generative AI to re-image or improve a process.
• Experience with R&D business applications such as Veeva, LIMS, ELN, CTMS, and related tools.
• Strong PM, stakeholder engagement, financial management, and delivering complex programs.

Responsibilities

• Lead IR M&A integration across AbbVie to ensure program health and reporting.
• Establish cross-functional IR teams for each deal to manage people, data, and systems.
• Define decision points and options with stakeholders, based on deal size, risk, and value.
• Coordinate with BTS and R&D to ensure effective communication and execution.
• Identify interdependencies and align with other BTS units for seamless integration.
• Escalate and drive risk mitigation and issue resolution cross-functionally.
• Present updates in IR Leadership forums and integration forums.
• Drive continuous improvement and explore AI-enabled solutions to accelerate value.

Mergers & Acquisitions (M&As) include multiple types of transactions that require BTSand IRleadership. This is a critical role in partnering withleadership to further define the strategy to evolve BTSs M&A organization,services,and playbooks for thevarious typesof M&A deals. Responsibilities

• Perform as theIR M&A IntegrationLeadover multipleAbbVie company-wide and R&Ddeal transactions responsible for overall program health,financials,and reporting.
• For each deal,establishthecross-functionalIRteam fully accountable to integrate or divest people,data,and systems.
• Develops business relationships and integrates activities with other BTOs to ensure successfulintegrationexecution and support of project efforts into long term execution. Manage relationships between BTOs,R&D Business, and Financetoensureeffective communication between the groups is occurring.Brokers services within BTS on behalf of customers; coordinates portfolio ofsolutions andidentifies interdependencies.
• Workwith the R&D business and BTS functional leads to clearly define business decisions, solution options and recommendations for a given deal based on deal model, size, complexity, risk, and speed to business value.
• Allies with other BTOs to remain current on project status, and inform management and stakeholders of progress; conversely, keeps managers and stakeholders aware of user issues and resolves conflicts proactively
• Responsible for escalating and driving risks and issues cross-functionally.
• PresentingIRupdatesin IR Leadership forums and R&D Integration Forums
• Continuous improvement projects to drive speed and agility in BTSM&Aservices and capabilities.Identifyand implement AI innovative solutions and capabilities to challenge statusquoandbring value to the business faster.
• Responsible for compliance with BTSs SLC, Corporate and Divisional policies and procedures.

• Strong Project Management, Stakeholder Engagement,Financial Management,Business Systems Applications and delivering complex cross-functional global programs.

• 6+ years experience leading a portfolio of business applications and leading large, complex cross-functional global IT implementationswith strongfinancial managementexperience
• 6+ years experience working on mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and collaboration.
