AbbVies Business Technology Solutions (BTS) Information Research (IR) organization is seeking aManager, Data Products & Deliveryto leada team responsible for deliveringcurateddata products within ARCH, AbbVies R&D Convergence Hub. As part of the DELOStream Data Exploration and Linked Outcome Solutions this rolehelps build the trusted, well-curated, AI-ready data foundation needed to advanceanalytics,reporting, knowledge graph capabilities, and AI-enabled use cases acrossR&D.

In this role, you willleada blended team of direct employees and contractors, including data engineers and data curation specialists,accountable forhigh-quality, well-documented, reusable data products. The teams work spans data curation, data quality, data modeling,metadata,governance, documentation,pipeline coordination,andexecution. You willguideday-to-day priorities,lead data curation decisions,coordinate work across initiatives,removebarriers,and help ensuresolutionsarereliableand aligned with business, scientific, and platform needs.

Working closely with business stakeholders, platform teams, architects,anddata owners,you willhelp translate business and scientific needs into reliable datadeliveryplans, support data standards, and help drive continuous improvement across data management processes and workflows.You willpartner with theAssociate Director Data Strategy, AI& Knowledge Enablementto execute priorities and support the successful delivery of ARCH data initiatives.

Responsibilities

• DataProductLeadership:Leadplanningandexecution forcurated, reusable, and AI-readydataproducts across multiple projects and workstreams. Translate business andscientificneedsinto clearpriorities,coordinate timelines and dependencies, manage risks, and ensure outcomes are practical, scalable, and aligned to stakeholder needs.
• TechnicalCoordination& Issue Resolution:Coordinatewithdataengineers, architects, platform teams, and data owners to resolve blockers, manage dependencies,support timelydecisions, and ensureteams have the clarity needed to execute effectively.
• Team Leadership & People Development:Mentor, supervise,andcoordinateemployees, contractors, and external partnerssupporting data curation, data modeling,engineering,and delivery activities. Setclearexpectations,providefeedback, supportdevelopment, and fosteraninclusive,accountable team culture.
• OperatingRhythm& Continuous Improvement:Establishand maintain team operating rhythms, including backlog health, sprint ceremonies, progress visibility, and issue escalation.Identifyopportunities to improve efficiency, automation, documentation, and consistency across data product workflows.
• Data CurationDecision Leadership:Leaddecisions related todata curationstandards,qualityexpectations, metadata, lineage,documentation, andreusable datapractices.Partner with stakeholders toprioritizeremediation activitiesthat improve trust,usability, and consistency.
• Stakeholder, Vendor & PartnerCollaboration:Partner with business, scientific, technology,platform, vendor, and external-partnerstakeholders to understandpriorities, alignplans, communicaterisksanddependencies, andsupportrelationships thatadvance organizationalgoals.
• Compliance &Standards:Ensure team activities follow AbbVie policies, data governance standards, software development lifecycle practices,data security expectations,and relevant compliancerequirements.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor's Degree in information technology,data engineering,data management,analytics,life sciences,orany relatedfield with 7 years experience; Master's Degree with 6 years experience; PhD with 2 years experience.
• Experience mentoring, supervising,or coordinating technical team members, including employees, contractors, vendors, or external partners.
• Experience leading technical deliveryin data engineering, data management, dataplatform, or analytics environments.
• Abilitytooperatewith a high degree of autonomy, resolve technical and delivery challenges, manage priorities across concurrent workstreams, and keep stakeholders informed throughclearwritten and verbal communication.
• Experience managing delivery using Agile practices and planning tools such as Jira, including backlog management, sprint planning, prioritization, and delivery tracking.
• Experienceapplyingdata quality, metadata management, governance, lineage, and data modeling practicesto support trusted, reusable data products.
• Working knowledge of modern data platforms, data integration, ETL/ELT pipelines, workflow orchestrationtools such as Airflow, cloud technologies,SQL-based environments, data warehousing orlakehousepatterns, analytics enablement, and AI-ready data delivery practices.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional business, scientific,technical, platform, vendor, orexternal-partnerteams.
• Strong communication, planning, and organizational skills, with the ability to translate priorities, risks, dependencies, and delivery status for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Data productleadership, with the ability totranslate priorities into clear plans,guideexecution, remove barriers,andsupport practical decisionsacrossbusiness and scientificuse cases.
• Peopleleadership and team coordination, including expectation setting, feedback, development support, and inclusive team practices.
• Operating disciplineacross Agile planning, backlog prioritization, sprint execution, progress tracking, risk management, and issue escalation.
• Stakeholder communication and influence, with the ability to translate priorities, risks, dependencies, and delivery status for technical and non-technical audiences.

Preferred

• Pharmaceuticalor healthcare industry experience preferred.
• Experience supporting research, clinical,scientific,or life sciences data environments.
• Familiarity with graph databases, knowledge graphs,ontology-based data structures,orlinked-dataconcepts.
• Experience working with AWS/Azure-basedor cloud-baseddata platforms.
• Experience working with regulated data environments, including data governance, documentation, security, or compliance expectations.
• Exposure toanalytics, machine learning,AI-enableduse cases, or AI-readydataproduct delivery.
