Job summary

MPC is hiring a Business Development Advisor – M&A to lead all phases of the deal lifecycle from origination to post-close integration at the Findlay, Ohio campus. You will work with Corporate Strategy and Portfolio Optimization to identify and execute inorganic growth opportunities, coordinating with law and external advisors to drive successful transactions.

Qualifications

• Minimum requirements include a bachelor's degree; MBA preferred.
• 7+ years of relevant experience in M&A or related fields.
• Experience with M&A and commercial contract development strongly preferred.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills are required.
• Self-starter with curiosity and comfort challenging the status quo.
• Continuous improvement mindset.

Responsibilities

• Lead all phases of the deal life cycle.
• Coordinate development and execution of legal agreements with Law.
• Organize and lead meetings with internal SMEs to support opportunity analysis and due diligence processes.
• Engage and coordinate activities with third‑party advisors/banks to support M&A transactions.
• Lead proactive screening efforts to identify top acquisition targets to advance MPC/MPLX strategies.
• Develop and maintain a repository of top M&A opportunities.
• Establish and monitor leading indicators to inform decision timing of M&A opportunities.
