Job summary

Trafigura Group in Houston seeks an M&A Associate to support senior team members on origination, financial analysis, due diligence, and negotiations across energy, metals and renewables. You will also assist the Operating Asset Division with asset planning, project analysis and strategy.

Over time, you may lead smaller deals, coordinating with trading, legal, tax and analytics teams. Willingness to travel and strong English proficiency are required; Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of total experience, with 2+ years at an investment bank.
• Strong understanding of oil, gas, metals, bulks, infrastructure, renewables and energy transition sectors.

Responsibilities

• Support senior M&A team members with origination, financial analysis, due diligence, negotiation of transaction documents, and approvals.
• Assist the Operating Asset Division with existing assets, including business planning, project analysis and strategy.
• Take the lead on smaller, less complex deals over time, managing business development and M&A processes.
