Job summary

Materion is seeking a production operator to manage equipment for LX powder preparation and blending, ensuring high quality and traceability. You will handle crushers, furnaces, dryers, magnet, and packaging lines on the manufacturing floor.

The role requires basic math, mechanical aptitude, and adherence to safety SOPs. Collaboration with the team and attention to environmental standards are essential in this hands-on position on the Newton, MA site.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent with at least 2 years industrial manufacturing experience.
• Welding education and experience desirable but not required.
• Requires the ability to follow standard operating procedures and prescribed safety rules to maintain high quality standards and safe working conditions.
• Requires mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, basic math skills.
• Must adhere to strict environmental and safety rules and identify areas for improvement.
• Expected to work as part of a team, to make good decisions, to anticipate production problems, and to resolve them with some assistance.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operates Jaw crushers, Tornado/Pin Mills and all blending equipment to support LX powder production.
• Set up and operates Doxy Furnaces, Doxy Leach and chemical addition equipment for LX powders.
• Set up and operates Air Dryers, Screeners and Dry Magnet in LX powder production.
• Set up and runs Agglomeration furnaces.
• Set up and operates Vacuum Packaging equipment.
• Perform troubleshooting and routine preventative maintenance on production equipment.
• Perform product blending and sampling as required.
• Enter material movements in SAP and complete quality control and lot traceability paperwork.
• Maintain 6S and keep the work area clean, safe, and orderly.
• Follow SOPs and safety rules to ensure personal safety and high product quality.
