Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of an accredited vocational nursing program.
• Licensed as an LVN in Texas.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, diseases, and hospital operations.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates clear oral and written communication with patients and staff.
• Establishes rapport and collaborative relationships with physicians, directors, and colleagues to assess patient needs.
• Monitors ER transfers and admissions to ensure timely bed placement on floors.
• Assists in expediting discharges through follow-up and proactive communication on the unit and in the ER.
• Coordinates bed assignments based on availability and patient status while following hospital procedures.
• Maintains bed status updates and communicates changes to leadership and staff.
• Communicates with EVS for room readiness and bed placement.
• Handles phone calls professionally and routes inquiries appropriately.
• Remains aware of unit staffing guidelines and patient-nurse ratios.
