Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Graduate of an accredited school for vocational nursing.
• Licensed as an LVN with the state of Texas.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, diseases, and hospital operations.

Responsibilities

• Employs a high degree of skill in oral and written communications and personal interactions.
• Establishes good rapport with personnel and physicians to determine facility needs.
• Follows up in the ER on admitted patients to ensure swift floor transfer.
• Helps expediting discharges through communication and follow up; on the floor/ER most of the day.
• Assigns hospital beds based on bed availability and admissions.
• Monitors bed board and notifies supervisor of bed status changes.
• Provides bed occupancy updates to administration via email.
• Transfers patients in-house with priority on critical transfers.
• Works with EVS for room cleaning and notifies housekeeping of delays.
• Maintains adherence to confidentiality and patient rights.
• Participates in performance improvement activities and data collection.
