Job summary

The University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB Health) is seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse to provide direct nursing care in a correctional health setting at Lane Murray Facility. This part-time role supports patients in a prison/jail environment with supervision and adherence to the state medical plan of care.

Ideal candidates have a Texas LVN license, current BLS-HP, and are open to recent graduates with temporary permits.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a Licensed Vocational Nurse Program and current license/permit as a vocational nurse in the State of Texas.
• No experience required.
• Current BLS-HP required.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct nursing care to assigned patients.
• Participates in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the nursing care given.
• Documents nursing care in all assigned patient records.
• Follows physician's orders and safe medication administration.
