Make You Well in Colleyville, TX is seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to join our on-site, full-time team. You will assist physicians, prepare patients, administer medications and injections, and help with IVs while ensuring patient care is thorough and compassionate.

Responsibilities include rooming patients, charting in Athena, performing tests, and educating patients on medications and discharge instructions, with strong emphasis on communication and follow-through.

Competenze

• Graduate of an accredited vocational nursing program.
• Active, unrestricted Texas LVN license.
• Current BLS (CPR) certification.
• Strong clinical skills, including injections and vital signs.
• Patient-focused with strong communication and follow-through.

Mansioni

• Room patients and take vital signs, height, weight, and medical history.
• Document visits accurately in Athena.
• Give medications, injections, and immunizations as ordered by the provider.
• Start peripheral IVs and give IV fluids and medications as ordered by the provider.
• Perform point-of-care tests such as glucose, urinalysis, strep, flu, and COVID.
• Draw blood and collect lab specimens.
• Assist providers with exams and minor procedures.
• Perform EKGs, wound care, and dressing changes.
• Teach patients about medications, follow-up care, and discharge instructions.
• Return patient calls promptly and document every call attempt in the patient’s chart.
• Call in prescription refills as directed by providers.
• Help with prior authorizations and referrals as needed.
• Clean and stock exam rooms and maintain medical supplies.
• Follow infection control, safety, and HIPAA guidelines.

About the role

The LVN provides hands on patient care alongside our physicians and providers. You’ll prepare patients for their visits, assist providers, give medications, injections, and IVs, and help every patient leave feeling informed and cared for. Strong communication and follow-through are key, including returning patient calls promptly and documenting every contact in the patient’s chart.

Required qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited vocational nursing program
• Active, unrestricted Texas LVN license
• Current BLS (CPR) certification
• Strong clinical skills, including injections and vital signs
• Caring, professional, and patient with every patient
• Organized, with strong follow-through on patient communication

Preferred qualifications

• 1 or more years of LVN experience in primary care, family medicine, or urgent care
• IV certification or demonstrated IV skills
• Experience with Athena (athenahealth) or another EHR system
• Phlebotomy and EKG experience
