Responsabilités

• Room patients and take vital signs, height, weight, and medical history.
• Document visits accurately in Athena.
• Give medications, injections, and immunizations as ordered by the provider.
• Start IVs and administer IV fluids and medications as ordered.
• Perform basic X-rays as ordered by the provider (with registration).
• Conduct point-of-care tests (glucose, urinalysis, strep, flu, COVID).
• Draw blood and collect lab specimens.
• Assist providers with exams and minor procedures.
• Perform EKGs, wound care, and dressing changes.
• Educate patients about medications, follow-up care, and discharge instructions.
• Return patient calls promptly and document attempts.
• Call in prescription refills as directed.
• Aid with prior authorizations and referrals as needed.
• Clean and stock exam rooms and maintain supplies.
• Follow infection control, safety, and HIPAA guidelines.

About the role

The LVN provides hands‑on patient care alongside our physician and providers. You'll prepare patients for their visits, assist providers, give medications, injections, and IVs, perform basic X-rays, and help every patient leave feeling informed and cared for. Strong communication and follow‑through are key, including returning patient calls promptly and documenting every contact in the patient's chart.

• Perform basic X-rays as ordered by the provider (with appropriate registration)

• Draw blood and collect lab specimens
• Assist providers with exams and minor procedures
• Perform EKGs, wound care, and dressing changes
• Teach patients about medications, follow‑up care, and discharge instructions
• Return patient calls promptly and document every call attempt in the patient's chart
• Call in prescription refills as directed by providers
• Help with prior authorizations and referrals as needed

Required qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited vocational nursing program
• Active, unrestricted Texas LVN license
• Current Texas Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) certificate
• Current BLS (CPR) certification
• Strong clinical skills, including injections and vital signs
• Caring, professional, and patient with every patient
• Organized, with strong follow‑through on patient communication

Preferred qualifications

• 1 or more years of LVN experience in primary care, family medicine, or urgent care
• 1 or more years of X-ray experience in a clinic setting
• IV certification or demonstrated IV skills
• Experience with Athena (athenahealth) or another EHR system
• Phlebotomy and EKG experience
