Job summary

Sweetwater Care is seeking an experienced licensed practical nurse to provide nursing care within the scope of practice and to support patient needs under established policies and physician orders. The role emphasizes infection control, quality improvement, patient education, and accurate medication administration, with rounds alongside physicians as needed.

A compact license or Montana licensure is required, with prior nursing management preferred.

Qualifications

• Must hold LVN/LPN license in Montana (or eligible via compact license)
• Minimum 1 year nursing management experience preferred
• Critical Access Hospital experience preferred
• Experience with Point Click Care charting required

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care in line with standards, physician orders, and policy.
• Participate in Infection Control and Quality Improvement programs.
• Notify departments of patient changes and new admissions.
• Educate patients and families as needed.
• Administer medications timely and per facility policy.
• Administer treatments timely and per facility policy.
• Receive, transcribe, and carry out physician orders when allowed by the Nurse Practice Act.
• Round with physicians as necessary.

Job description

Objective

Provides nursing care within scope of practice to ensure patient’s needs are met in accordance with standards of practice, physician orders, center policies and procedures, and state, federal and local guidelines.

Principal Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge and appropriate use of the Company Infection Control Manual.
• Understands, participates and assists in implementing the Quality Improvement Program.
• Utilizes the Quality Life Manual for identification, placement, and monitoring of patients in the appropriate programs.
• Notifies other Departments of patient changes, i.e., room changes, LOA, new admits, discharge, etc.
• Conducts family and patient education.
• Demonstrates the ability to administer medications timely and according to facility policy.
• Demonstrates the ability to administer treatments timely and according to facility policy.
• Demonstrates ability to receive, transcribe, and carry out physician orders, if allowed by Nurse Practice Act
• Makes rounds with physicians when necessary.

Qualifications

• Currently licensed as LVN/LPN in the state of Montana, if contract is in the state of Montana. Have a compact license if working in a Compact state.
• One-year prior nursing management experience preferred
• Criticial Access Hospital experience preferred
