LVN/LPT Opportunity – Mental Health Services (Long Beach, CA)
$24.00 – $27.50/hr | 35 hours/week | Monday – Friday | Temp-to-Perm Potential
Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of individuals facing mental health challenges? We are seeking 2-3 Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs) or Licensed Psychiatric Technicians (LPTs) to join a dedicated team in Long Beach, CA, supporting adults with mental health needs—many of whom are also experiencing homelessness or other social barriers.
Position Highlights:
Status: Temporary (Indefinite) with potential for permanent hire (client's goal)
Pay Rate: $24.00 – $27.50 per hour (Higher rates considered based on experience)
Schedule: Monday – Friday | 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (1-hour lunch) | 35 hours per week
Field Work: May include traveling between Long Beach sites to administer medications
Interview Process: Initial interviews via Teams/Zoom
Work Environment:
Not a traditional hospital or clinic setting. Nurses work within community offices and at various program sites throughout Long Beach.
Key Responsibilities:
Administer medications and monitor for side effects.
Perform physical and mental health assessments.
Maintain detailed and compliant records in an electronic health record system (Welligent).
Collaborate with case managers, therapists, and healthcare providers to coordinate care.
Educate clients on health conditions, treatment adherence, and wellness strategies.
Engage members through field visits, including homes, hospitals, and community settings.
Assist in skill-building to help members manage health concerns independently.
Maintain daily documentation and billing per agency and county standards.
Ideal Candidates Will Have:
Current California LVN or LPT license.
Outpatient nursing experience (preferred).
Experience working with individuals with mental health diagnoses, substance abuse issues, or dual diagnoses (preferred).
Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills.
Willingness to work collaboratively in a recovery-oriented team model.
CPR/AED certification (or willingness to obtain).
Ability to drive with a valid California driver’s license, personal vehicle, and insurance.
Additional Requirements:
Live Scan background check (arranged by client).
Comfort working in fast-paced, flexible, community-based environments.
Basic proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Electronic Health Records.
