Job summary

Lutheran Village at Miller’s Grant Inc is seeking a full-time Housekeeper to maintain clean and safe environments for residents and staff in Ellicott City, MD. The role runs Monday–Friday, 7:00am–3:00pm, with every-other-weekend rotation.

Responsibilities include cleaning rooms and common areas, restrooms, and specialized facilities while following all safety and infection control procedures. Competitive benefits and a not-for-profit mission accompany this role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in a long-term care facility preferred.
• Must be able to communicate clearly with residents, families, visitors and team members.

Responsibilities

• Clean and disinfect resident rooms, bathrooms, and common areas.
• Empty trash, dust surfaces, vacuum carpets and hallways, mop floors, and sanitize surfaces.
• Clean specialized areas including bathing facilities, soiled utility rooms, isolation rooms, and discharge rooms.
• Assist with room turnover cleanings and prepare guest rooms, cottages, and community center areas as scheduled.
• Provide support to housekeeping teams as needed, including weekend and relief coverage.
• Operate cleaning equipment safely and effectively.
• Follow safety protocols and infection control procedures.

We’re currently seeking a dedicated Full-Time Housekeeper to join our caring and mission-driven community. This position works Monday through Friday from 7:00am to 3:00pm, with a rotating every-other-weekend requirement.

The Housekeeper plays an important role in creating a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our residents, guests, and team members. This position is responsible for performing daily housekeeping duties throughout the community while following all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as facility policies, safety standards, and infection control procedures.

What You’ll Do as an LVMG Housekeeper:

• Clean and disinfect resident rooms, bathrooms, and common areas such as offices, lounges, elevators, and dining spaces.
• Empty trash, dust surfaces, vacuum carpets and hallways, mop floors, and sanitize frequently touched items (e.g., tables, chairs, ledges, thermostats, fire extinguishers).
• Clean specialized areas including bathing facilities, soiled utility rooms, isolationrooms, and discharge rooms.
• Assist with room turnover cleanings and prepare guest rooms, cottages, and community center areas as scheduled.
• Provide support to Independent Living and Residential Living housekeeping teams asneeded, including weekend and relief coverage.
• Operate cleaning equipment such as vacuums, mops, and other tools safely andeffectively.
• Participate in all mandatory in-services and attend optional training sessions asdirected by the Supervisor.
• Must follow all safety protocols and infection control procedures.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications: What You’ll Need as a Housekeeper:

Education |Experience

• High School Diploma orequivalent.
• Prior experience working in a long-term care facility ispreferred.

• Must be able to communicate clearly and respectfully with residents, families,visitors,and teammembers.
• Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English isrequired.
• Must have adequate vision and hearing to perform job duties safely andeffectively.

• Must be able to push, pull, and lift 50 pounds using safe handlingpractices.
