Job summary

Mission Technologies, a division of HII, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer 3 to design, develop, test, and sustain NTB product line software across multiple simulation systems. You will work within the Navy Training Baseline scope, contributing to distributed training environments and collaborating with hardware teams to meet Navy training objectives.

This role offers hybrid work in a mission-driven environment and requires a Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field; Senior level requirement with 5+ years in software engineering.
• Proficiency in Java, OO design, debugging tools, and Linux environments.
• Experience with multithreaded development and Java-focused IDEs (IntelliJ/Eclipse).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, document, test, and debug applications and distributed simulation systems.
• Enhance, integrate, and sustain NTB products (JSAF, JBUS, RAVE, ERM, MDS, NEXUS, JMAC, CS3, ATD).
• Develop on Red Hat Linux using Java, JavaScript (ExtJS/Vue), shell scripts, and IDEs such as IntelliJ or Eclipse.
• Collaborate with leads and end users to deliver secure software aligned with fleet training needs.
• Apply modeling and simulation techniques and standards (TENA, HLA, DIS) for distributed training systems.
• Prepare operating instructions and assist with technical documentation, proposals, and user manuals.
