Job summary

ABB in Mebane, NC is seeking an Assembly Technician to contribute to building semi-finished and final products on onsite production lines. You will read technical diagrams, assemble components, and operate shop-floor machinery while maintaining clean work areas and following SOPs.

The role requires a high school diploma and up to 1 year in manufacturing; candidates must be able to lift up to 40 lbs and use basic hand tools. US work authorization is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 1 year working in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Knowledge and use of tools - tape measure, calipers, grinders, or other hand tools, as needed.
• Ability to safely use a ladder while performing the job, as needed.
• Ability to lift, push and pull up to 40lbs.
• Candidates must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.

Responsibilities

• Conducting all types of assembly work to produce semi-finished or final products/systems/panels, including the packing where integrated with production lines.
• Reading and interpreting the technical diagrams/instructions for assembly of products/systems/panels.
• Performing work manually or by using light hand tools.
• Will use machinery and equipment on the shop floor
• Carrying out regular quality testing as part of a defined production process.
• Operating within standard operating procedures and maintaining a clean work area.
