Job summary

Neiman Marcus is seeking a Tailor to perform alterations, resizing, and restyling of luxury merchandise in its stores. You will assist fitters with fit, alterability, and structural quality of apparel while maintaining Neiman Marcus standards.

The role requires experience in tailoring or industrial sewing, clean reading of English instructions, and basic math for measurements. This on-site position offers comprehensive benefits and an employee discount.

Qualifications

• Experience in a tailoring operation or industrial sewing environment preferred.
• Ability to read English and understand instruction by Manager, Supervisor, or Lead
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure.

Responsibilities

• Alter constructed garments to meet quality standards set by Neiman Marcus, equal or better than original construction.
• Alter seams vented or unvented, take in shoulder blades, reduce chest, narrow shoulders.
• Shorten back, shorten collar, and square shoulders.
• Shorten coat, re-line coat, or remake inside or outside pockets.
• Operate and maintain sewing equipment.
• Self-inspect completed work to ensure quality standards are met.
• Complete alterations assigned by Supervisor/Lead.
• Interpret instructions furnished in written and oral form.
• Complete tasks assigned by Manager, Supervisor, or Lead.
