Job summary

Hamilton Hotel, located at 1001 14th St NW, Washington, DC 20005, USA, is seeking a Restaurant Server for Via Sophia. You will take orders, serve food and drinks, and ensure a superior dining experience in a fast-paced luxury setting.

The ideal candidate has 1–2 years in high-volume hospitality, strong customer service skills, and a ServSafe/TIPS certification. AM/PM shifts, weekends and holidays required; experience with POS systems is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school degree or equivalent; or relevant work experience.
• 1–2 years' experience in high volume, luxury lounge or restaurant.
• 1–2 years' hospitality experience working with high profile clients.
• Must possess valid ServeSafe and TIPs certification.
• Experience providing excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexible to work AM/PM shifts, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Ensure accuracy and timely delivery of food/drink orders to tables.
• Recommend appetizers and meals based on the menu and specials.
• Address customer concerns and create a pleasant dining experience with management.
• Confirm orders with chefs and bartenders when clarifications are needed.
• Provide professional, friendly and engaging service.
• Take and expedite drink orders quickly; serve refills upon request.
• Maintain restaurant presentation and stock bar supplies to par levels.
• Assist with setting tables and rearranging for larger parties.
• Follow cash handling and POS procedures.
• Prepare itemized checks including sales tax.
• Follow responsible alcohol service guidelines.
• Adhere to departmental policies and safety/sanitation policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
