Job summary

Salamander Middleburg seeks an accomplished Executive Chef to lead culinary operations of our luxury resort in Middleburg, Virginia.

You will shape seasonal menus, mentor a diverse culinary team, manage food costs, and uphold Salamander's luxury standards across restaurants, banquets, catering, and in-room dining. This role demands a proven track record in high-volume, premium hospitality and a passion for culinary excellence.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Executive Chef in a luxury hotel or resort.
• Proven success leading complex, high-volume culinary operations.
• Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets, forecasts, and P&L.
• Ability to recruit, develop, motivate, and retain culinary teams.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred; culinary degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and strategic direction for all resort culinary operations.
• Lead, mentor, develop, and inspire the culinary leadership team.
• Create innovative, seasonally inspired menus and elevated presentations.
• Maintain high standards for quality, taste, and consistency across outlets.
• Oversee restaurants, banquets, catering, in-room dining, and events.
• Manage food costs, labor, purchasing, inventory, and operating expenses.
• Lead culinary budgets and P&L performance, improve profitability.
• Establish cost-control practices and strong supplier relationships.
• Collaborate with leadership to deliver a seamless guest experience.
