Job summary

Alexx Kesh Interior Design Studio in Montrose, CA is seeking an experienced Design Project Manager to oversee luxury residential and boutique commercial projects from concept through construction and final installation. The role demands coordinate with clients, architects, contractors, and vendors on multiple active projects.

The position is full-time, in-person in Montrose, CA, with immediate start preferred.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in interior design project management or a closely related architecture/construction role
• Experience with high-end residential and/or boutique commercial projects
• Strong ability to read and understand architectural and construction documents
• Strong understanding of general construction, detailing, field conditions, sequencing, and coordination between trades
• Comfortable walking an active job site and understanding construction progress
• Confident communicating with architects, GCs, subcontractors, millworkers, fabricators, consultants, and vendors
• Familiarity with AutoCAD and SketchUp
• Proficient in Google Workspace and Canva
• Exceptional organization, communication, and follow-through
• Ability to manage multiple active projects and shifting priorities
• Strong problem-solving skills and proactive mindset
• Collaborative, detail-oriented, and solution-driven
• Passion for thoughtful design and elevated client experience

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage multiple projects from design development through construction, installation, and completion
• Coordinate with clients, architects, consultants, general contractors, subcontractors, fabricators, and vendors
• Manage project schedules, budgets, deadlines, priorities, and deliverables
• Read and interpret architectural and construction drawings
• Review drawings, specs, and field conditions for discrepancies or coordination issues
• Attend job-site meetings and site visits to review progress
• Document site conditions, action items, and follow-ups
• Coordinate design clarifications, RFIs, samples, approvals, specs, and information for construction
• Communicate confidently with contractors to keep work moving forward
• Oversee procurement, order tracking, lead times, deliveries, and logistics
• Coordinate material and finish selections, specs, vendor info, and installation requirements
• Maintain organized project documentation and internal task lists
• Delegate and follow up with the design team to meet deadlines
• Proactively identify delays and propose solutions
• Support installations, styling, punch walks, and final closeout
• Maintain clear, polished client communications throughout the project
