Job description

Interior Design Project Manager

Alexx Kesh Interior Design Studio Full-Time | In-Person | Montrose, CA

We're seeking an experienced Interior Design Project Manager with a strong background in interior design, construction coordination, and project management to oversee luxury residential and boutique commercial projects from concept through construction and final installation.

This role is ideal for someone who is highly organized, proactive, construction-savvy, and confident managing the many moving parts required to successfully execute a design project.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead and manage multiple projects from design development through construction, installation, and completion
  • Coordinate with clients, architects, consultants, general contractors, subcontractors, fabricators, and vendors throughout each phase
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, deadlines, priorities, and deliverables

  • Document site conditions, action items, outstanding decisions, and necessary follow-ups
  • Coordinate design clarifications, RFIs, samples, approvals, specifications, and information required by the construction team

  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and SketchUp
  • Proficient in Google Workspace and Canva
  • Exceptional organization, communication, and follow-through
  • Ability to manage multiple active projects and shifting priorities simultaneously
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to anticipate needs rather than wait for direction
  • Collaborative, proactive, detail-oriented, and solution-driven
  • Passion for thoughtful design and delivering an elevated client experience
THE RIGHT FIT

We're looking for someone who naturally takes ownership and keeps projects moving.

You should be comfortable reviewing a drawing set, participating confidently in a contractor meeting, walking a construction site, identifying what needs attention, creating a clear action plan, delegating internally, and following through until each item is resolved.

This is not primarily a creative design position. While a strong design eye is important, the focus of this role is project leadership, construction coordination, organization, communication, and execution of the studio's design vision.
