Job summary

IHG Hotels & Resorts’ InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown is seeking a Houseperson to support housekeeping operations within the Wilshire Grand building. You’ll assist room attendants, stock supplies, and ensure guest areas remain clean and welcoming.

This role emphasizes teamwork, physical stamina, and a commitment to guest satisfaction, with duties ranging from stocking linen to handling trash and assisting with deep cleaning projects as needed.

Qualifications

• Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
• Housekeeping experience preferred.
• Ability to speak English preferred.
• Carrying or lifting items up to 75 pounds and pushing/pulling up to 300 pounds.
• Frequent standing and movement throughout the facility.
• Frequent handling of objects and equipment for the facility.
• Frequent bending, stooping, and kneeling.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and control supplies and amenities; minimize waste.
• Promote teamwork and quality service with other departments.
• Report needed repairs or unsafe conditions to supervisor.
• Respond to guest complaints to ensure satisfaction.
• Deliver housekeeping supplies (linens, cots, etc.) promptly to guests.
• May collect newspapers for recycling.
• Assist room attendants with heavy items and stock linen storage.
• Clean designated areas such as restrooms, lobby fixtures, vending areas and storage spaces.
• Remove trash and dirty linen from carts and transport to laundry.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of floor closets and vending areas.
• Assist with deep cleaning projects.
• May assist with other duties as assigned.
