Job summary

Metric Geo is seeking an experienced Estimator to support the estimating and preconstruction process for high-end luxury custom homes in the St. Charles, MO area. This role focuses on detailed budgeting, accurate takeoffs, and effective collaboration with project teams onsite.

You will prepare detailed estimates, review plans and specs, and manage project budgets through the preconstruction phase. The ideal candidate excels in cost analysis, subcontractor coordination, and delivering

Qualifications

Experience in residential construction estimating or preconstruction.
Experience with estimating, takeoffs, bid solicitation, budgeting, and cost analysis.
Ability to read construction plans, specifications, and scopes of work.
Strong understanding of residential construction costs, materials, trades, and sequencing.

Responsibilities

Prepare detailed estimates and project budgets for luxury custom residential projects.
Review construction plans, specifications, scopes of work, and project documentation to develop accurate estimates.
Perform quantity takeoffs and cost analysis for materials, labor, and subcontractor scopes.
Solicit, review, and compare subcontractor and vendor bids to ensure accurate pricing and complete scopes.
Develop and maintain project budgets throughout the preconstruction process.
Track pricing, project costs, and cost changes to maintain accurate estimates.
Work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, vendors, subcontractors, and leadership.
Identify opportunities for value engineering and cost savings while maintaining quality and craftsmanship.
Maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors.
