The Virginian Golf Club L.C. in Bristol, VA is seeking a part-time Host for Hickory to warmly welcome guests, manage reservations, and coordinate seating with front-of-house staff. This role serves as the first impression and supports a polished dining experience.

Responsibilities include greeting guests, guiding seating, answering calls, and ensuring a smooth flow during peak times. Evening and weekend availability is required; prior hospitality experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: Minimum 1 year in a restaurant or guest service role.
• Able to communicate clearly and maintain professionalism in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly and manage reservations and seating.
• Escort guests to tables, present menus, and accommodate seating preferences.
• Maintain real-time awareness of table status and guest flow.
• Coordinate with servers, bartenders, and management to balance guest flow.
• Answer phone calls with hours, menu, and policies; assist with takeout inquiries.
• Keep the host stand, entrance, and waiting areas clean and organized.
• Set the dining room tone and assist during peak periods and events.
• Relay guest needs and feedback to management promptly.
