Job summary

The Embers Hotel in Blowing Rock, North Carolina, seeks a dedicated General Manager to lead our boutique property and on-site restaurant. You will oversee Guest Services, Rooms, F&B, events, and engineering, and drive guest satisfaction with Hay Creek standards.

Qualifications

• Recent 3+ years Hotel General Manager experience required.
• Strong background in both Rooms Division and F&B operations.
• Experience in luxury environment.
• Excellent computer skills including; Excel, Word & Outlook.
• Experience in Property Management and POS Software.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong Cost Management skills, with the ability to meet or exceed strict budgetary expectations.
• Daily Revenue and P&L Reporting exposure and knowledge
• Strong background in hotel forecasting preferred.
• Comfortable with managing and leading a team with motivation, accountability, and regular follow-up.
• Ability to establish a strong service culture and maintain high customer service standards.
• Ability to multitask, adapt to change, think quickly, and prioritize effectively in a fast paced and demanding environment while maintaining calmness, composure, and hospitality.
• Successful completion of background check and/or DMV check.
• Weekend availability for high volume days is required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee successful operations in all property departments: Guest Services, Housekeeping, Restaurant & Bar, Sales & Marketing, Private Events, Engineering.
• Manage on-site short term rentals.
• Build relationships with clients and guests to elevate the experience and serve as the face of the property.
• Enforce Hay Creek standards for customer service.
• Oversee recruitment, interviews, hiring, onboarding, training and development of staff.
• Foster positive employee relations and a fun, engaging work environment.
• Manage hotel and departmental budgets through scheduling, forecasting, inventory, and cost controls.
• Ensure compliance with health, sanitation, safety, and licensing laws and internal policies.
• Collaborate with managers on sales and marketing strategies and third-party resources.
