The Service Manager is responsible for overseeing daily operations of the service department, ensuring an outstanding customer experience, maintaining high productivity, and meeting performance targets.Key Responsibilities
- Manage and lead service advisors, technicians, and support staff to achieve department goals
- Monitor workflow and ensure timely and accurate completion of service work
- Foster a customer-focused environment that drives satisfaction and retention
- Maintain strong working relationships with internal departments, vendors, and customers
- Ensure compliance with OEM standards and dealership policies
- Track and manage service department financials including gross profit, expenses, and CSI scores
- Recruit, train, and develop service department personnel
- Handle escalated customer concerns professionally and effectively
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Service Manager or Assistant Service Manager in an automotive dealership environment
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent customer service and communication abilities
- In-depth knowledge of automotive service operations and manufacturer guidelines
- Proficiency with DMS software (CDK or similar)
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
