Job summary

Amangiri in Canyon Point, Utah, invites applications for a J1 Culinary Intern to join our culinary team. This full-time role focuses on preparing and presenting high-quality dishes while maintaining a clean, organized kitchen environment. The internship runs from February 2027 to the first week of January 2028, with visa support for eligible candidates.

You will work closely with our chefs, handle diverse prep tasks, and contribute to exceptional guest experiences in a remote desert setting.

Qualifications

• Culinary degree or equivalent professional kitchen experience.
• Flexibility to work weekends, nights, holidays, and varied shifts.
• Food Safety Certification required.
• Highly organized and capable of working independently.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to qualify for a J1 Visa in the United States for 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and operate your assigned kitchen station with precision and consistency.
• Execute prep tasks and food production as directed by the Sous Chef.
• Ensure all mise en place is complete and up to quality standards.
• Use proper recipes and presentation techniques to uphold culinary excellence.
• Communicate effectively with the Culinary leadership team about needs or issues.
• Accommodate guest dietary or special requests with attention to detail.
• Label, date, and store all food products properly at the end of shift.
• Keep your station and the kitchen clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.
• Collaborate with team members across all shifts to ensure continuity and quality.
