Job summary

Carneros Resort and Spa in Napa, California, is seeking an experienced Banquet Bartender for weddings, private dinners, and resort events. This on-call, hourly, non-exempt role focuses on delivering elegant beverage service in a luxury setting.

The ideal candidate has 1–2 years bartending experience, knowledge of wine and spirits, and a commitment to high standards of hospitality. Evening and weekend availability is required, with opportunities to advance in a Forbes-style service environment.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of bartending experience in banquets, catering, or fine dining.
• Strong knowledge of wine, spirits, cocktails, and luxury service standards.
• Ability to stay composed and efficient during high-volume events.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Valid Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) certification or ability to obtain before hire.
• Experience in luxury hospitality or Forbes service environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide warm, attentive, professional bar service during banquets, weddings, and special events.
• Prepare and serve cocktails, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages to resort standards.
• Set up and break down event bars, maintain cleanliness and organized presentation.
• Maintain a clean and efficient workstation throughout the event.
• Monitor guest intoxication levels and practice responsible service per ABC regulations.
• Communicate with Banquet Captains and servers to ensure smooth beverage flow.
• Respond to guest requests promptly and with courtesy, creating a upscale experience.
• Follow safety, sanitation, and resort policies for bar service and equipment use.
