Job summary

The University of Pittsburgh's Pulmonary, Allergy, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine Division seeks a Research Technician III to perform independent laboratory work, execute experiments, and prepare specimens and cultures under PI supervision.

Responsibilities include in vivo murine experiments, sterile cell culture, Western blotting, PCR, DNA/RNA prep, flow cytometry, data logging, and contributing to publications and grant proposals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant science field.
• At least 2 years of laboratory experience.
• Experience with sterile tissue culture,Western blotting,PCR, and DNA/RNA preparation.
• Experience with in vivo murine experiments preferred.
• Strong data management and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in in vivo murine experiments and tissue harvesting.
• Perform sterile cell culture, drug treatments, and DNA/RNA transfections.
• Conduct genetic knockdown and techniques such as confocal microscopy, Western blotting, and flow cytometry.
• Maintain buffers, tissue culture rooms, procurement, and mouse colonies.
• Accurately log data and prepare figures for publication.
