Trinity Health Corp. in Fort Lauderdale, FL is seeking a Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our Pulmonary Medicine team in an outpatient setting.

The ideal candidate will collaborate with four physicians and one Advanced Practice Provider to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care. Responsibilities include comprehensive assessments, chronic disease management (sleep apnea, COPD, asthma), lung cancer screenings, care coordination with oncology or thoracic surgery, and

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner Program
• National Advanced Practice Registered Nurse Certification (APRN) OR national board certification as a Physician Assistant.
• Current Physician Assistant or APRN license in the State of Florida.
• BLS/ACLS

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments: history, physical examinations, and diagnostic interpretation.
• Manage chronic pulmonary conditions: sleep apnea, COPD, asthma.
• Perform lung cancer screenings and order/coordinate tests and referrals.
• Evaluate and triage new referrals and follow-ups.
• Order/interpret labs and tests; develop evidence-based treatment plans with physicians.
• Educate patients on prevention, lifestyle changes, and medications.
• Coordinate care with Oncology or Thoracic surgery.
• Document encounters in the EMR.
• Ensure compliance with policies and guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments including history, physical examinations, and interpretation of diagnostic studies.
• Manage chronic conditions such as Sleep Apnea, COPD and Asthma.
• Provide Lung Cancer screening examinations, order appropriate diagnostic testing, and referral for appropriate follow up.
• Evaluate and triage new patient referrals and follow-up visits.
• Order and interpret laboratory studies, diagnostic testing Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans with collaborating physicians
• Provide patient education on disease prevention, lifestyle modifications, and medication management
• Participate in care coordination with other providers such as Oncology or Thoracic surgery.
• Document all patient encounters thoroughly and accurately in the Electronic Medical Record
• Maintain compliance with organizational policies, regulatory guidelines, and best practice standards.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner Program
• National Advanced Practice Registered Nurse Certification (APRN) OR national board certification as a Physician Assistant.
• Current Physician Assistant or APRN license in the State of Florida.
• BLS/ACLS
