Job summary

Merck & Co., Inc. is seeking a Principal Scientist (Director) for Outcomes Research in Lung Cancers. The role leads strategy, coordinates non-interventional studies, and develops value evidence for payer and access decisions, with global collaboration.

You will work in a hybrid setup across USA locations, building partnerships with cross-functional teams, external partners, and scientific experts while contributing to publications and congress presentations.

Qualifications

• Advanced or professional degree in a relevant discipline.
• 4+ years post-doctoral degree or 7+ years post-master’s degree in life sciences, non-interventional research for value evidence.
• Oncology experience.
• PhD in relevant discipline preferred; Lung cancer/thoracic malignancies experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead Outcomes Research strategy for a Lung Cancer program and obtain senior management approval.
• Critically assess drivers to reimbursement and market access with cross-functional teams.
• Design non-interventional and data synthesis studies; author protocols and analysis plans.
• Manage study contracting, budgets and vendor relationships.
• Develop HTA dossiers and supplementary clinical data for submission to HTA agencies; adapt evidence for local requirements.
• Present outcomes research data at national/international congresses and publish in journals.
