Job summary

Merck is seeking a Principal Scientist/Director in Value & Implementation Outcomes Research to advance value evidence for oncology programs, including real-world evidence, economic modeling, and payer-focused dossiers. You will work with Medical Affairs, biostatistics, market access, and country teams to shape evidence generation and product strategy.

The role involves developing study protocols, managing budgets, and collaborating with HTA agencies and payers worldwide.

Qualifications

• PhD/MD/DrPH/ScD or PharmD with relevant fellowship.
• 7+ years post-master’s experience in life sciences for value evidence generation (NIR).
• Oncology experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the Value & Implementation plan with Medical Affairs.
• Support reimbursement and market access for programs and indications.
• Assess drivers and barriers to reimbursement and influence strategy.
• Collaborate to design studies, write protocols, and develop data collection tools.
• Manage study contracting, budgets, and vendor relationships per SOPs and GxP.
• Develop AMCP dossiers for U.S. payers and Global Value Dossiers.
• Prepare supplementary clinical data for HTA submissions in coordination with markets.
• Support affiliates to tailor evidence generation to local needs.
• Communicate outcomes research and health economic modeling data across teams and to external stakeholders.
• Stay updated on methodological advances and engage with scientific experts.
• Presents data at national/international congresses and publishes in journals.
