Job summary

Reed City High School is seeking a dedicated Lunchtime Supervisor for a part-time role to ensure a safe, supportive and engaging lunch period for students. You will supervise students, assist in meal distribution, monitor cleanliness and food service areas, and help create a positive, inclusive atmosphere during lunch.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or equivalent, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work well in a team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or experience in education or child development preferred.
• Previous experience working with children or in a school setting is a plus.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to relate to students of various ages.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
• Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards working with students.
• Must pass background checks as required by school policy.
• Availability to work during lunch periods on school days.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students during lunch periods to ensure safety and appropriate behavior.
• Assist in the distribution of meals and monitor food service areas for cleanliness and organization.
• Engage with students to foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere during lunch.
• Address any behavioral issues or conflicts that may arise and report them to the appropriate staff.
• Support students with special needs as required, ensuring they have a positive lunch experience.
• Collaborate with teachers and school staff to promote a supportive environment during lunch.
• Assist in the cleanup of lunch areas, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
• Participate in staff meetings and training sessions as needed.
