Job summary

Schoolcraft Elementary is looking for a dedicated Lunch/Recess Supervisor to create a safe, engaging lunch and recess experience for students. This part-time position emphasizes positive interactions and smooth daily routines.

You will monitor behavior, assist with lunchtime tasks, organize activities, and coordinate with staff as needed. CPR/First Aid certification is preferred but training may be provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; experience working with children preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect with students of diverse backgrounds.
• Ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations, demonstrating effective problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of child development and age-appropriate activities is a plus.
• Must pass background checks as required by school policies.
• Availability to work during lunch and recess hours, typically from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM, on school days.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred but not required; training may be provided.

Responsibilities

• Monitor student behavior during lunch and recess to ensure safety and adherence to school rules.
• Facilitate and promote positive interactions among students, encouraging teamwork and conflict resolution.
• Assist students with lunchtime routines, including serving food, managing waste, and ensuring cleanliness in the dining area.
• Organize and lead recreational activities to engage students during recess.
• Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents regarding any concerns or incidents.
• Report any safety hazards or maintenance issues to the appropriate school personnel.
• Support students with special needs as required, ensuring inclusivity and accessibility.
• Participate in training sessions and staff meetings as needed.
