Prior Lake-Savage Area Schools is seeking a Lunchroom/Noon Supervisor - Secondary to supervise students during lunch periods and assist with transitions to keep a safe, orderly environment. The role reports to the Building Principal/Assistant Principal and is Non-Exempt under the MSEA agreement.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED and being at least 18 years old. Preferred experience with school-aged children and strong communication skills are valued in this supportive staff

  • Monitor student movement to ensure timely return to classes.
  • Assist students who are injured or ill and seek help as needed.
  • Report safety concerns to the principal or supervisor.
  • Support the principal in reinforcing lunchroom expectations.
  • Maintain confidentiality per district policies.
  • Promote positive interactions and respectful communication among students and staff.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

JOB TITLE: Lunchroom/Noon Supervisor - Secondary

DEPARTMENT: Support Staff

REPORTS TO: Building Principal/Assistant Principal

FLSA: Non-Exempt

START DATE: ASAP

HOURS/DAY: 3.25

RATE OF PAY: $18.18 - $20.66 per hour (2025-26 rate), Category A

Terms of employment per the Minnesota School Employees Association Non-Certified Student Support Personnel (MSEA) collective bargaining agreement.

SUMMARY

To supervise and support students during lunch periods by monitoring behavior, enforcing safety rules, assisting with conflict resolution, and ensuring a safe, orderly, and positive lunchroom environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Supervise and monitor students during lunch periods and related transitions to ensure a safe, orderly, and respectful environment.

  • Monitor student behavior and assist students in resolving conflicts in the lunchroom.
  • Enforce school rules, expectations, and all safety procedures during lunch periods.
  • Maintain a neat, clean, and orderly lunchroom by supporting appropriate student conduct and routines.
  • Monitor student movement and time to ensure classes return to instructional areas on time.
  • Assist students who are injured or ill during lunch periods and seek additional help as needed.
  • Report safety concerns, accidents, or unusual situations to the building principal or designated supervisor.
  • Support the building principal in establishing and reinforcing appropriate lunchroom expectations.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality in accordance with district policies and procedures.
  • Promote positive interactions, teamwork, and respectful communication with students, staff, and administrators.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education and Experience

High School Diploma/GED

At least 18 years of age.

Previous experience working with school-aged children preferred.

Required Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations

Continued employment is contingent upon all required licenses and certificates being maintained in active status without suspension or revocation.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

Work is performed primarily in the cafeteria.
