Chippewa Valley Schools IAM (Internal applicants only) in Clinton Township, MI is seeking two Lunchroom Monitor/Floater positions. Work is 2 hours per day, 10:30am–12:30pm, with paygrade 3. Starting immediately for the 2026-2027 school year.

The roles require a high school diploma or equivalent, good communication, and the ability to supervise students in a loud lunchroom setting. Part-time hours and on-site work at IAM location. Immediate starting date.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises and monitors students in the lunchroom and playground before, during, and after lunchtime.
  • Ensures that students comply with school rules and communicates with students to monitor behavior in the lunchroom.
  • Assist students with opening food items, microwaving student lunches, handing out napkins, straws, eating utensils, etc.
  • Wash tables during and after lunchtime.
  • Must be on time at the lunchroom.
  • Communicate with staff and students to answer questions and disseminate information.

Position Summary

Supports the school district in ensuring a safe, orderly, and clean environment by monitoring the lunchroom and the students while maintaining confidentiality.

Duties and Responsibilities

These duties and responsibilities are judged to be "essential functions" in terms of the Americans With Disabilities Act or ADA

  • Supervises and monitors students in the lunchroom and playground before, during, and after lunchtime.
  • Ensures that students comply with school rules and communicates with students to monitor behavior while in the lunchroom.
  • Assist students with opening food items, microwave student lunches, handing out napkins, straws, eating utensils, etc.
  • Wash tables during and after lunchtime.
  • Must be on time at the lunchroom.

Physical Demands
