Job summary

American Leadership Academy is seeking a Lunch/Recess Aide for the Radiance Elementary campus in the East Valley for the 2026-2027 school year. Candidates must obtain a valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance card.

Responsibilities include supervising students during lunch and recess, promoting positive behavior, assisting with meals, encouraging healthy eating, and responding to emergencies as needed. California I-9 compliance and safety protocols apply.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance card required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor students during lunch and recess to ensure safety and well‑being, providing supervision in cafeteria and playground.
• Promote positive behavior and social interactions, address conflicts and follow school policies.
• Assist students with opening food containers, utensils, and drinks for meals.
• Encourage healthy eating and assist in reinforcing nutritious choices.
• Respond calmly to minor disputes and guide toward resolution.
• Be prepared to respond to emergencies or accidents, administer first aid if necessary and notify staff.
• Help maintain cleanliness in cafeteria and play areas, wipe tables and collect trash.
• Engage with students during recess, promote inclusive play and participation.
• Foster a respectful and inclusive environment by modeling appropriate behavior.
• Other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Monitor students during lunch and recess to ensure their safety and well-being, providing constant supervision in the cafeteria and on the playground.
• Promote positive behavior and social interactions among students, addressing conflicts or issues as they arise and implementing school behavior policies.
• Help students with opening food containers, utensils, and drinks, ensuring they have everything they need to enjoy their meals.
• Promote healthy eating habits by encouraging students to try new foods and make nutritious choices.
• Address minor disputes or conflicts between students calmly and effectively, guiding them toward resolution.
• Be prepared to respond to emergencies or accidents, administering first aid if necessary and alerting appropriate staff as needed.
• Assist in maintaining cleanliness in the cafeteria and play areas, ensuring that tables are wiped down and trash is collected.
• Engage with students during recess, encouraging inclusive play and ensuring that all students are participating and having fun.
• Foster a respectful and inclusive environment by modeling appropriate behavior and encouraging students to treat each other kindly.
• Other duties as assigned.
