Job summary

Blue Origin in Washington state is seeking an experienced avionics engineer to design, build, and certify VTBs and avionics emulators for Lunar Landers. You will contribute to hardware‑in‑the‑loop systems ensuring interfaces between subsystems meet stringent requirements.

This on‑site role at Renton requires hands‑on work, strong CM practices, and use of standard test equipment. A passion for safe spaceflight and prior avionics experience are essential.

Qualifications

  • Minimum: B.S. in a technical field; 2+ years' avionics integration and verification experience.
  • Hands-on with standard lab test equipment (oscilloscopes, DMMs, power meters, DAQ cards).
  • Strong CM understanding and ability to maintain documentation throughout lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Design, architecture, procurement, build, integration, and certification of VTBs and avionics emulators.
  • Upgrade and redesign HIL/VTB infrastructure to meet evolving requirements.
  • Create and maintain electrical harness diagrams; manage harness docs and config control.
  • Define test requirements with vehicle subsystems; execute system/subsystem test plans.
  • Support integration of flight avionics, hardware, operator consoles, and test tooling.
  • Troubleshoot avionics systems and resolve issues during checkout.
  • Develop VTB integration and change management plans; maintain configuration control.
  • Coordinate with test teams to ensure verification of avionics units under test.
