Job summary

Blue Origin in Colorado is seeking a Test Engineer to support the Mk2 Crew Lander Fluids and Propulsion team. This hands-on role spans fluids, thermal, mechanical, and electrical disciplines, with leadership responsibilities and a strong focus on safety and quality.

The position requires a bachelor’s in aerospace or related field and 5+ years in aerospace test engineering, including hands-on experience with fluid systems and various testing types. Significant travel may be needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline.
  • 5+ years experience in aerospace test engineering or related technical field.
  • Hands-on test experience or exposure to fluids systems and/or fluid system components.
  • Experience with one or more test types: inspection, performance, leakage, shock, vibe, static/dynamic loading, thermal cycling, thermal vacuum, pressurized operations, cryogenic fluids testing, EMC, or Life testing.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, plan, and execute integrated testing including research, development, qualification, acceptance, performance, and environmental testing.
  • Project management of test budgets and schedules.
  • Lead or assist developing test requirements, plans, and procedures for hardware/system performance.
  • Create and review test plans, procedures, safety assessments, schematics, and other engineering artifacts.
  • Procure and install test support equipment; coordinate with supply chain for vendors and subcontractors.
  • Host, coordinate, and participate in test readiness reviews and post-test reviews.
  • Troubleshoot issues during testing and respond to emergencies during test.
  • Mentor, train, and supervise junior engineers.
  • Enforce safety policies during test planning and operations.
  • Process, analyze, and archive test data.
