Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an Avionics Components Test Engineer for the Lunar Core Components team to test Motor Control units used across lunar missions. You will work with Responsible Engineers to define tests, develop procedures, and execute campaigns ensuring performance, fault tolerance, and safety.

Responsibilities include test planning, bench bring-up, HIL strategies, and environmental campaigns. Strong collaboration with NASA and partners is expected in a safety-critical environment.

Qualifications

  • BS/BA in electrical or related field.
  • 3+ years hands-on testing or integration of electronic systems.
  • Experience developing and executing test plans in a structured environment.
  • Familiarity with fault detection, isolation, and recovery in motor controllers.
  • Experience with environmental qualification testing campaigns.

Responsibilities

  • Own test scope for Motor Control units and partner with RE to define requirements.
  • Plan, write, and execute test plans for development and qualification testing.
  • Support bench bring-up and hardware characterization with design team.
  • Define and execute Hardware-in-the-Loop test strategies.
  • Support environmental test campaigns (thermal-vacuum, vibration, EMI/EMC).
  • Drive verification closure and map test evidence to requirements.
  • Identify and track test anomalies through to resolution.
  • Contribute to test infrastructure and ground support equipment needs.
  • Communicate test status and risk; lead technical reviews.
