Job summary

Reeves Hardware Co Inc is seeking an outdoor yard worker to assist customers, locate products, and load items onto vehicles. You will support loading/unloading deliveries, operate yard equipment, and help keep the yard organized and safe in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers, help locate products, and assist with loading onto vehicles.

• Follow safety protocols and use proper lifting techniques and equipment.
• Assist drivers and delivery teams with loading materials for transport.
• Support stock counts, report low inventory, and flag damaged or missing items.
• Operate yard equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks) as trained.
• Collaborate with yard and store staff to ensure smooth operations and good customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Customer Assistance: Greet customers upon arrival, aid them in locating the correct products, and ensure all items are loaded safely onto their vehicles.
• Loading and Unloading: Load and assist in unloading delivery trucks, with emphasis on serving customers efficiently and safely.
• Material Handling: Regularly bend, lift, and twist to move materials. Safely lift and carry loads of 75-100 lbs. on a frequent basis, with potential for heavier lifting as required.
• Yard Organization: Maintain the organization and cleanliness of the material yard. Ensure materials are properly stacked, labeled, and easy to access.
• Safety Practices: Follow all established safety protocols and use appropriate lifting techniques and equipment to prevent injuries.
• Assisting with Deliveries: Support drivers and delivery teams as needed, including loading materials for transport and assisting with off-site deliveries.
• Inventory Support: Assist with stock counts, report low inventory, and alert supervisors of any damaged or missing materials.
• Equipment Operation: Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, or other yard equipment as authorized and trained (if applicable).
• Teamwork: Collaborate with other yard and store employees to ensure smooth operations and excellent customer experiences.

Requirements

Working Conditions

• Majority of work performed outdoors, exposed to changing weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow, etc.).
• Physical requirements include frequent bending, lifting, twisting, and carrying heavy objects.
• Must be able to safely lift 75-100 lbs. regularly; heavier lifting may occasionally be required.
