Job summary

Ganahl Lumber Company is seeking a lumberman to load and unload building materials for delivery or storage. The role is commonly known as a Load Builder.

The position requires ability to read and follow instructions, operate hand and power tools, and use material handling equipment safely; high school diploma or equivalent is required with preference for 6 months related experience. Follow all safety and company policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required or preferred.
• Six months of related experience is preferred.
• Ability to read and follow work orders or instructions.
• Commitment to safety and PPE procedures.

Responsibilities

• Move loads, stock, or other materials to and from storage or production areas, loading areas, delivery vehicles, or by hand using material handling equipment.
• Attach identifying tags to loads, stock, or other materials.
• Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments or operational needs.
• Stack loads in locations such as material sheds, storage or production areas, loading areas, delivery vehicles, or by hand using material handling equipment.
• Carry out general yard duties.
• Maintain proficiency in all organizational safe working policies and practices.
• Follows all organizational policies and procedures
• Maintains a safe and clean work environment.
• Reviews deliveries for quality and accuracy; reviews accompanying documents for accuracy
• Performs other related duties as assigned
• Adheres to company policies and work requirements.
