Job summary

Ganahl Lumber Company is seeking a Lumberman to load and unload building materials for storage or delivery. This role, sometimes called a Load Builder, requires physical stamina and the ability to follow work orders and safety rules.

Responsibilities include tagging loads, stacking materials, and performing yard duties while maintaining a clean, safe work environment. Pre-employment screening may be required.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write, understand and relay written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to operate various hand and power tools when needed.
• Ability to operate material handling equipment including hand trucks, pallet jacks, and forklifts.

Responsibilities

• Move loads, stock, or other materials to and from storage or production areas, loading areas, delivery vehicles, or by hand using material handling equipment.
• Attach identifying tags to loads, stock, or other materials.
• Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments or operational needs.
• Stack loads in locations such as sheds, storage or production areas, loading areas, delivery vehicles, or by hand using material handling equipment.
• Carry out general yard duties.
• Maintain proficiency in organizational safety policies and practices.
• Adhere to company policies and work requirements.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
• Review deliveries for quality and accuracy; review accompanying documents for accuracy.
