Job summary

UFP Industries is seeking a general labor candidate to safely handle lumber products and verify material meets customer requirements. You will move, stack, label, and tag lumber according to specifications, while maintaining inventory and collaborating with teams to ensure quality and efficiency.

The role emphasizes safety and accuracy, with duties including production recording, area housekeeping, and supporting related material movements as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• Manufacturing or lumber experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of basic math preferred.

Responsibilities

• Move and secure lumber products according to instructions.
• Stack finished products according to predetermined bundle sizes and/or customer requirements.
• Label material based on type, size, and count.
• Apply individual tags to material before/after treating/production.
• Use a staple gun and troubleshoot equipment.
• Band, bundle and secure material, including attaching corner protectors and loading sticks.
• Follow stacking instructions for material per policy and customer requirements.
• Ensure correct quantities and material are strapped and labeled before leaving the work area.
• Maintain accurate inventory of tags and report discrepancies to supervisor.
• Record production on production sheets.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Assist with other work areas by moving material, loading and unloading carts.
• Participate in safety, CI and other programs and meetings.
• Perform other duties as required.
